Reuters | 1 June 2009

NUSA DUA, Indonesia – PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI.JK), Indonesia’s biggest coal miner by volume, said on Monday it had obtained 8 million tonnes of coal purchase orders from China in 2009.

Bumi did not ship any coal to Chinese buyers last year, said Dileep Srivastava, corporate secretary of Bumi Resources.

Separately, a trading source said the price for the 8 million tonnes sold to China was in the mid $60 per tonne level.
